provide for the upgrade of the Ballyroan Wastewater Treatment Plant and will comprise of the following: Installation of an additional new Sequence Batch Reactor (SBR) wastewater treatment stream complete with flow splitter chamber, air blowers, sludge wasting pumps and effluent pipework; Installation of a new above ground storm water holding tank complete with internal cleaning system, flow return system and associated access stairs and platform; Installation of a new above ground sludge holding tank complete with internal decant system and associated access stairs and platform; Installation of tertiary filter; Installation of wash water pumping station; Installation of a GRP kiosk to house electrical control panel and all ancillary site works. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) has been prepared in respect of the proposed development.
