Permission for development which consists of: We, Choice Hotel Group, intend to apply for permission for development at this site located at Flood Street and New Dock Street, Galway. The development will comprise a change of use and refurbishment of a residential house, to provide an additional 20 no. rooms at the existing House Hotel, which is a Protected Structure (RPS 6701). The proposed development comprises the following: 1. Construction of an external glazed link (GFA 5.4 sqm at each floor level) connecting the two buildings at each level; 2. Modifications to the existing entrance steps and existing hotel bedrooms to allow for connecting corridor; 3. Internal modifications to the existing ground, first and second floors of the former residential building to provide 15 no. hotel bedrooms; 4. Conversion of roof space to provide an additional floor to the existing residential building to facilitate 5 no. hotel bedrooms; 5. Addition of secondary fire escape stairs to the rear of external yard; 6. Modifications to fenestration of the existing structures, including installation of 3 no. dormer windows, additional windows to the east and west façade and conversion of ground floor doors to windows on the residential building, and all associated development and site enabling works.
