Permission is being sought from Cork Co. Council for the following works to the premises of the John O’Brien Butcher Shop, Main Street, Killeagh P36RY74 – This property is a protected structure – NIAH Ref # 20829015 and is located within the Killeagh Architectural conservation area. 1) Existing ‘John O’Brien’ premises- upgrading of existing windows, doors and shopfront, demolition of rear extension and replacement with new flat roof two storey stairwell extension to access the remodelled and extended existing first floor apartment over retained over the retained existing retail space. Ancillary works to include two flat roof sheds and walled yards to rear for retail use and apartment use. Replacement of the existing road gate to the existing opening onto the main street to provide for pedestrian/cycle access. 2) Back lands site to ‘John O’Brien’ premises – Demolition of existing single storey out-buildings to rear and new three storey apartment block to include 9# residential units as follows: 4# 1 bedroom apartments, 3#2 bedroom townhouses and 2# 2 bedroom apartments. Ancillary works to include bicycle storage shed, refuse storage store shed, hard and soft landscaping to communal courtyard and private open space areas. Linear Courtyard to facilitate future through access to adjacent wayleave. All ancillary site development works to serve the overall development.
